Man killed in shooting overnight in Oak Park, police say

Sacramento police are investigating a homicide Friday morning after a man was shot and killed overnight in Oak Park.

Police responded to reports of a shooting near 10th Avenue and 34th Street just after 1:30 a.m., Sacramento Police Department spokesman Sgt. Vance Chandler said.

A victim was located inside a home in the neighborhood and pronounced dead at the scene by Sacramento Fire Department personnel. The victim has been identified as a male adult, Chandler said.

The victim was found with at least one gunshot wound, according to a news release by the Sacramento Police Department.

Homicide investigators remained at the scene as of 6:30 a.m., closing a few blocks of 10th Avenue in the immediate area. No information regarding potential suspects was available.

“We are investigating right now to determine how many people are involved,” Chandler said.
