About 1,500 homes left without power in Arden Arcade after car crashes into pole
About 1,500 homes were left without power Wednesday evening after a car hit a Sacramento Metropolitan Utility District power pole in Arden Arcade, officials said.
The vehicle hit a pole near Fair Oaks Boulevard and Munroe Street sometime after 7 p.m., impacting 1,530 SMUD customers. About 1,300 got their power back by 7:45 p.m, according to SMUD.
SMUD said that most of the remaining 222 customers should have their power back before about 9 p.m., but a few customers will remain without power while SMUD repairs the pole, which could take a few hours.
