Texas man gets 20 years: He met minor through video game, molested her in Sacramento

A Texas man was sentenced to 20 years in prison Thursday after being convicted of enticing a minor and crossing state lines into Sacramento to engage in sexual activities with a minor.

Christopher L. Crawford, 38, of Houston met a girl through an online video game in March 2017 and began to text and video chat with her, giving her the impression he was 15, according to a news release issued by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California.

After a few weeks of talking to the girl, Crawford made plans to travel from Texas to California to meet her in person, according to the release.

Prosecutors believe that after Crawford arrived in Sacramento, he lured her from her middle school and molested her, according to the release.
