Sacramento firefighters rescue cat stuck in tree for days
Firefighters extricated a cat from a palm tree after the feline just would not come down on its own.
The black and white cat was meowing like crazy for days in the 30-to-40 feet tall overgrown palm in a yard in the 5900 block of Jansen Drive before Sacramento Fire Department firefighters moved in to pluck her from her lofty perch.

— SacFire PIO (@SacFirePIO) June 3, 2015Firefighters were concerned that citizens were going to attempt a rescue of the cat and injure themselves so they took control around 9 p.m. Tuesday and got the cat down, employing two ladder trucks.
Firefighters were ready to abandon the rescue if a fire broke out at a different location, fire officials said.
