Two suspects have been arrested in connection with an April arson incident, fire officials say
Two suspects in an arson investigation have been booked in the Sacramento County Main Jail, the Sacramento Fire Department announced Saturday.
Chantel Williams, 28, and Rashawnda Williams, 24, were linked to the April 19 incident by fire investigators, Fire Department spokesman Capt. Keith Wade said in a press release, and a felony warrant for arson was issued.
Chantel Williams also was wanted on a warrant for suspected assault with a deadly weapon or instrument, according to the press release.
Both suspects were arrested by the Elk Grove Police Department on Wednesday for unrelated incidents, but they were booked into the county jail for the warrants, the press release said.
The fire occurred in a Meadowview apartment home to a woman and a 4-year-old boy, according to the release.
The apartment was in the 2700 block of Meadowview Road, and the woman was able to extinguish the fires in the apartment after the smoke alarm woke her up, the Fire Department said.
