The Sacramento Police Department is searching for two men who were caught on surveillance footage last week keying a Tesla in Old Sacramento.

The vandalism occurred May 9 around 7 p.m. in the 1100 block of Front Street, where the Tesla was parked, according to a news release issued by the Sacramento Police Department.

One man, seen in security footage from the Tesla, is described as being in his 20s or 30s, standing about 5 feet, 11 inches tall, and weighing about 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black sunglasses, dark blue jeans, black sandals and a black shirt reading “Merica,” according to the release.

The other man is believed to also be in his 20s or 30s, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall and about 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hat, eyeglasses, a gray shirt and pants and black shoes with a white sole according to the release.

The two men can be seen dragging a key across the Tesla and hitting it with the door of an adjacent car, causing “significant damage,” the release said.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the vandals or the incident to call 916-808-5471.
