Eight young people arrested in Roseville auto break-in spree

Roseville police nabbed eight young people early Thursday and arrested them on suspicion of auto burglary and robbery.

The young people, who are from northern Sacramento County, are of various ages: from an elementary student to high schoolers.

A police spokeswoman said that officers were called about occupants traveling in a white van who were committing vehicle break-ins beginning about 3 a.m. Thursday. The van was spotted along Cirby Way and near Vernon Street and Lyndhurst Avenue.

All eight young people in the van ran from the vehicle at Vernon Street and Lyndhurst Avenue, but police were able to take all of them into custody. A gun was recovered.

The young people are suspected of burglarizing vehicles and threatening a person who reported their alleged misdeeds.
