Two men arrested in connection with Roseville bank robbery

Two men were arrested Thursday in Yuba City in connection with a Roseville bank robbery last month, the Roseville Police Department reports.

Roseville police arrested Gregory Matthew Travis Townsend, 25, of Yuba City, on suspicion of robbery and Timothy Michael Eckman, 25, of Vacaville, on suspicion of being accessory to the robbery of a U.S. Bank bank branch.

On the afternoon of May 27, a man approached a teller at the bank branch inside the Safeway at 9045 Woodcreek Oaks Blvd., police said in a news release. He gave the teller a note demanding cash and left with an undisclosed amount of money. He claimed to have a gun, although no weapon was seen. There were no injuries.

Roseville police detectives developed information about a possible suspect, and with the help of Yuba City police, arrested the pair in a Yuba City house, according to the release.

Townsend is being held in the Placer County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. Eckman is being held in the Placer County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
