Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies are investigating two shootings Saturday night in Rancho Cordova that took place an hour apart.
The first was in front of a liquor store at Lincoln Village Drive and Viking Drive shortly before 9:30 p.m. A man in his 40s was shot at least once, according to the Sheriff’s Department. He later died at a hospital. Deputies said two people fired at the victim, but no suspects had been arrested Sunday. The victim’s identity had not been released because his next of kin had not been notified.
The second shooting came at 10:20 p.m. Saturday near Benita Drive. Deputies found a man in his 30s wounded but conscious in the 2200 block of River Trail Court. Investigators had not identified a suspect or motive Sunday.
