The driver killed in a rear-end, chain reaction crash that backed up traffic Monday morning on Highway 50 in Rancho Cordova has been identified by Sacramento County coroner’s deputies.
He is listed on the coroner’s website as Derrick Hodges, 52, of Rancho Cordova.
The crash occurred along westbound Highway 50 just east of Bradshaw Road about 8:15 a.m. during the morning commute.
California Highway Patrol officers said it appears that Hodges was rear-ended and his vehicle pushed forward into another vehicle. That vehicle then was pushed forward into another vehicle.
