Officers were called about 11 p.m. to a home in the 3600 block of 38th Street. A man with a gunshot wound to his chest was pronounced dead at the scene by Sacramento Fire Department medical personnel.
Detectives spoke with witnesses, including family members of the dead man. They also walked the area to speak with neighbors and investigated circumstances leading up to the shooting.
