Shots fired near Sacramento City College after high school football game, police say
Police are investigating a report of shots fired near Sacramento City College on Friday night.
Officers responded around 9:20 p.m. after people attending a high school football championship game at Hughes Stadium reported hearing gunshots, the Sacramento Police Department announced on Twitter.
No shots were fired at the stadium or on campus, according to the department. Officers found shell casings at the intersection of 23rd Street and 15th Avenue two blocks south of the stadium in the Carleton Tract neighborhood.
Police do not believe anyone was shot and do not have descriptions for any suspects, department spokesman Officer Karl Chan said.
