Chico man arrested with more than 600 images of child pornography, authorities say
The Butte County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of a Chico resident on Tuesday after discovering devices containing child pornography, according to authorities.
Deputies began investigating Paul Vigil in August, according to a news release. Detectives served a warrant at a home in the 200 block of West First Avenue in Chico on Nov. 26, when they located various electronics containing child pornography.
Authorities believe all of the images were downloaded from the internet, the release said. Vigil, 69, was arrested the following day and booked into the Butte County Jail on one felony count of possession of child pornography and one felony count of possessing more than 600 images of child pornography.
