A multi-car crash near the Interstate 5 and Capital City Freeway connector in Sacramento has blocked three lanes and is slowing traffic, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Four to five vehicles were involved in a crash around 6:42 p.m. Friday night, according to the CHP incident logs. One of the cars involved caught fire in the number four lane. Minor injuries have been reported.

The number four, five and six lanes are all blocked and there is no estimated time of reopening. Traffic is backed up past 20th Street on westbound Capital City Freeway.

Caltrans is advising travelers to expect delays.
