Folsom man suspected of making threats at hotel with knife is arrested, deputies say

A man suspected of making threats at a hotel in north Auburn on Sunday afternoon was arrested following a search of surrounding areas, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies launched a search for Folsom resident Mario Wilson, who they believe threatened guests and employees at a hotel on Bowman Road around 8 a.m.

Law enforcement searched the hotel but did not find Wilson, 31, authorities said in a tweet. He was believed to be armed and dangerous.

Deputies announced Wilson had been taken into custody in Cameron Park around 6:30 p.m., with assistance from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.

Earlier in the afternoon, Placer deputies were on the scene at Bowman Road near Channel Hill Road and asked residents to avoid the area, the Sheriff’s Office tweeted.

Deputies were on the lookout for a black Chevrolet Colorado pickup trick with a utility rack and Virginia license plates.

The Sheriff’s Office warned that bystanders should not approach the truck and call 911 immediately if either it or Wilson were seen.
