West Sacramento man to get 21 years after pleading no contest to child molestation
A West Sacramento man is headed to prison after pleading no contest to child molestation on Wednesday, the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office announced.
Robert Gomez, 51, was at a residence with his wife and a minor on June 7 when the minor fell asleep on his bed while playing video games, according to the release. Gomez then unzipped her pants and touched her underneath her underwear. The girl then told him to stop and ran to the bathroom crying before asking him to take her home.
The girl reported the incident to her mother, who reported it to the police. He was charged with lewd and lascivious conduct with a child under the age of 13.
Gomez has a prior conviction of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 13 from 1995 when he assaulted his then-girlfriend’s daughter.
He is scheduled to be sentenced to 21 years in prison on Jan. 10.
