Carmichael man could face prison after indictment for child porn and exploitation

A Carmichael man was indicted by a federal grand jury last week for child sex charges related to incidents late last year, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Christopher Espinoza, 27, attempted to get two underage victims to “engage in sexually explicit conduct” and make visuals of that conduct, according to court documents. The incidents happened in November and December 2018.

Images and videos of child pornography were found on two phones and a laptop during a search on Jan. 11 of this year. He was arrested and has pleaded not guilty.

Espinoza was charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a child and one count of possessing child pornography. If convicted, he faces a minimum of 15 years in prison and a maximum of 30 years.
