Two arrested in Stockton on pimping and human trafficking charges, authorities say
A man and a woman were arrested in Stockton on Wednesday after a female victim told authorities she had been forced into human trafficking, according to the Stockton Police Department.
Police say they responded to a home on the 2100 block of Dockery Court in early December, where they contacted a 22-year-old woman who reported that she had been forced into human trafficking by Saint Marques Taylor, 32. According to a news release, detectives discovered evidence of human trafficking, false imprisonment and assault committed by Taylor.
Police say they also found evidence that Kiana Booker, 26, had been assisting Taylor with his pimping and was also involved in recruiting victims. According to the release, police served a search warrant in the 800 block of Houston Avenue on Wednesday, where the two suspects were arrested.
Taylor was arrested on suspicion of human trafficking, pimping, pandering, terrorist threats, brandishing a firearm, domestic violence and vandalism, while Booker faces charges of pimping and pandering, police said. The two were booked into the San Joaquin County jail, with bail set at $1.4 million for Taylor and $200,000 for Booker.
