A Rancho Cordova man was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of false impersonation after allegedly giving his brother’s name at three separate traffic stops.

In a news release, the Rancho Cordova Police Department said Murad Morzovanyan, 31, was taken into custody after he was pulled over three times within a two-week period for violations including speeding, lack of insurance and lack of a license.

During traffic court, officers determined that the suspect’s brother, who looks similar, had showed up to face charges, and that he had given his brother’s name instead of his own during the traffic stops.

Murad Morzovanyan was identified as the correct suspect, and he was arrested on a felony warrant.

He was booked into the Sacramento County jail on three counts of false impersonation and various traffic violations.

In 2010, KCRA reported that brothers Murad and Arutyan Morzovanyan were arrested on suspicion of running a credit card skimming scheme.
