Sacramento man charged with burglary, ID theft; police search for alleged accomplice
A Sacramento resident was arrested Monday after being identified as a suspect in a November vehicle burglary and subsequent credit card fraud case, according to the Vacaville Police Department.
Police say Brandon Gibbons, 32, was taken into custody by Sacramento County probation officers after authorities received help in identifying him through social media, but they did not indicate why he was on probation. According to a news release, Gibbons was involved in a November vehicle burglary in Winters in which stolen items included credit cards.
Police say Gibbons and an accomplice spent $2,500 at two Vacaville businesses within hours of the theft. According to the release, Donald Todd, 55, of Sacramento, was identified as the second suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest, but he has not been located by authorities.
Vacaville Police say they contacted Gibbons at the Sacramento County Jail, where he was interviewed and transferred to the Solano County Jail on charges of auto burglary, identity theft and credit card fraud.
Police ask that anyone with information regarding the case contact them at 707-469-4854.
