Two men injured in early morning shooting near Fulton Avenue, police say

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning and left two male victims injured.

According to sheriff’s spokeswoman Lacey Nelson, deputies received a call from the Ramada Inn near Fulton Avenue and Auburn Boulevard at approximately 1 a.m. Wednesday. The caller said a shooting had occurred, but was uncooperative and hung up quickly, police said.

Nelson said deputies arrived and found an injured man who was shot in his upper torso. Nelson said deputies began life-saving measures before the victim was transported to an area hospital, where he is in critical condition. Nelson said a second victim transported himself to a hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the upper torso. Deputies say his injury was not life-threatening.

Deputies say that they have yet to discover a suspect or motive behind the shooting, and ask anyone with information to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 916-874-5115.
