Man suspected of killing father in Amador County arrested after manhunt in Lake Tahoe area

A fugitive wanted in connection with the homicide death of his father was located and arrested Thursday in the Tahoe area, authorities said.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in social media posts that Sean Purdy, a 20-year-old man wanted out of Amador County, was arrested in Incline Village, Nevada. In an overnight post, the sheriff’s office reported that Purdy had fled from deputies on foot near Tahoe and Village boulevards.

Purdy had been sought by the Amador County Sheriff’s Office in connection with the homicide death of 52-year-old Lance Purdy, his father, at the family’s home in Pine Grove, the Associated Press and local media outlets reported.

Washoe sheriff’s deputies located and arrested Sean Purdy south of Incline Village after an approximately 12-hour manhunt, the Sheriff’s Office said in a tweet.

Incline Village is just north of Lake Tahoe’s Crystal Bay.

Further information regarding the case will be released by the Amador sheriff’s office, Washoe deputies said.
