Fair Oaks man caught hiding in tree after stealing industrial cables in Roseville
A Fair Oaks man was arrested on New Year’s Eve after stealing industrial cables in Roseville, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.
James Fuchs, 43, was seen carrying industrial cables and leaving a property in the 9700 block of Sierra College Boulevard by a deputy responding to an emergency alarm activation, according to the release. Fuchs ran into a nearby neighborhood as the deputy was preparing to stop him.
Deputies along with the Roseville Police Department officers and a California Highway Patrol helicopter later located Fuchs hiding in a tree. The cables were valued at $300.
Fuchs was arrested and charged with petty theft, evading an officer and trespassing on private property. He is being held at the Placer County Jail in lieu of $5,463 bail.
