Sacramento’s CBS 13 adds second new on-air reporter of the year from Western Michigan
Another new face will help ring in the New Year at CBS 13.
Marlee Ginter will be joining KOVR in Sacramento in 2020, joining Heather Janssen as another new reporter coming to the region.
Ginter had served as an anchor and investigative reporter with WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, Michigan, since October 2011. Before that, she worked as an anchor and reporter for KOMO-TV in Seattle, WISH-TV in Indianapolis, WSPA-TV in Spartanburg, North Carolina, and WTOC-TV in Savannah, Georgia.
“New year, new beginnings! Been a busy week packing and getting on the road to.... CALIFORNIA!” Ginter wrote on Twitter. “Until we meet again West Michigan... thank you for so many special memories!”
Ginter announced that she was leaving WOOD, an NBC affiliate, on Dec. 19, with her last broadcast on Dec. 21.
“During her time with WOOD TV8, Marlee has been actively involved as part of the Target 8 Investigates team. She has a passion for investigative reporting and looking out for viewers,” WOOD said of her in an article. “Her work with Target 8 won her an Investigative Reporter Emmy and she was honored by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters for her investigative series on used cars missing airbags. She also won back-to-back Michigan Associated Press Best Individual Reporting Awards.
