Three arrested in connection with 75 Rocklin vehicle burglaries, police say
Three people, including a minor, were arrested in Roseville early Sunday morning in connection with about 75 vehicle robberies.
In a news release, the Rocklin Police Department said Mia Gonzales, Larry Smith and a 14-year-old boy, all Sacramento residents, were taken into custody after reports of a burglary on the 1300 block of Ridgeview Circle.
Officers responded to the area and found several cars that had been broken into, but received another call reporting a burglary in progress at a different location.
Responding officers found more burglarized vehicles. One had a credit card stolen from it and the victim told police that credit card statements indicated it was being used in Roseville.
During a traffic stop in Roseville, police found Gonzales, Smith and the minor. Officers searched the vehicle and seized property stolen from the series of Rocklin burglaries, estimated to have targeted about 75 vehicles total, according to police.
Gonzales, 18, and Smith, 20, were arrested and booked into the Placer County jail on suspicion of burglary, unauthorized use of credit card information and conspiracy, while the minor was taken to juvenile hall.
The Rocklin Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the burglaries to call 916-625-5400.
