Oroville man wounded in drive-by shooting at a wedding celebration, authorities say
An Oroville man was hospitalized after being wounded during a drive-by shooting while celebrating a wedding Saturday, according to the Oroville Police Department.
Police say they received several calls around 5 p.m. reporting a man had been shot. According to a news release, police found a 34-year-old man lying in the street with a gunshot wound near Pomona and Sixth avenues.
Police say they began life-saving measures on the victim, who was transported to an area hospital. According to the release, his condition is unknown. Witnesses say four shots came from a dark-colored sedan occupied by four men while a wedding was being celebrated in the front year of a home.
According to the release, witnesses said the sedan sped away north on Sixth Avenue. Police say no suspects have been caught and that the investigation is ongoing.
