Pittsburg man arrested in connection with car robberies in Auburn, police say

A Pittsburg man was arrested on burglary charges Saturday and is accused of stealing from eight cars in Auburn, according to the Auburn Police Department.

Officers began receiving several reports of car burglaries Saturday, according to a news release. Charles Mosley and his car were identified by witnesses and reported to officers.

A deputy from the Placer County Sheriff’s Office spotted Mosley’s car and stopped him, police said. Items stolen from the vehicles were found in his car and he was arrested.

Mosley, 34, was booked into the Placer County Jail and charged with six counts of burglary and two counts of possessing stolen property. He is being held on $1.3 million bail due to prior convictions and each count being booked separately.
