A man was arrested in Rancho Cordova on Friday after officers seized guns, drugs and cash during a traffic stop.

In a news release, the Rancho Cordova Police Department said Samuel Craig of Sacramento was taken into custody after officers determined he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

A patrolling officer spotted Craig driving along U.S. Highway 50 near Mather Field Road when he was pulled over for vehicle code violations, according to police.

Craig, 30, couldn’t produce a license or identification and, as he stepped out, the officer saw a gun in plain view in the vehicle, according to police.

During a search of Craig and the vehicle, the officer found a short-barreled shotgun, two loaded pistols, ammunition, drugs, paraphernalia, brass knuckles and more than $2,800 in cash.

Craig was taken into custody and booked into Sacramento County jail.
