A Carmichael home sustained an estimated $200,000 in damage in a Friday afternoon fire that also spread to a neighboring residence.
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District crews responded shortly after 3:30 p.m. to the 5500 block of Robertson Avenue. They arrived to find a two-story home in flames and another home threatened. The fire had ignited a tree, which allowed the blaze to spread to the house next door, according to a Fire District news release.
Fire crews were able to limit fire damage to the exterior of the neighboring house and smoke damage inside. The house where the fire started suffered extensive damage.
