Three people wounded in Howe Avenue drive-by shooting, Sacramento Sheriff’s deputies say

Three people have been hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after they were wounded in a targeted shooting Sunday evening in the parking lot of an Arden Arcade apartment complex.

Just after 4:30 p.m., the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a shooting at the Northwood Apartments in 2200 block of Howe Avenue near Cottage Way, said Sgt. Tess Deterding, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Office.

By 5:30 p.m. deputies were still investigating the scene, where they found at least five bullet casings that were strewn near a parking stall toward the back of the gated complex.

Officials described the incident as a drive-by shooting and said the victims were targeted.

The victims were taken to hospital by Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District medics and their conditions were not known.

No suspects have been apprehended and a motive for the shooting remains unclear.
