Sex assault suspect sought after Davis woman fights off attacker in driveway, police say
Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who attempted to sexually assault a woman in the driveway of her Davis home late Sunday night.
The Davis Police Department responded around 12:15 a.m. Monday to the 1800 block of Birch Lane for the assault, which the victim reported had happened between about 11:45 p.m. and 11:55 p.m. Sunday, the department said in a Facebook post.
The victim said she had just parked her car and was walking toward her front door when a male suspect approached from behind, forced her to the ground and attempted to sexually assault her, according to the post.
The woman “loudly screamed and physically fought back,” leading the suspect to flee the scene, police said. She was not physically injured.
“The unknown male suspect possibly wore a ‘puffy’ jacket made of squishy material,” the Facebook post said. “No further suspect-information is available.”
The Davis Police Department asks anyone with information related to the investigation to contact the department.
