Update: One woman dead, another injured in separate North Sacramento shootings

Authorities are investigating a pair of early Saturday shootings in North Sacramento that left one woman dead.

Officers about 5 a.m. were called out to an apartment complex in the 2700 block of Rio Linda Boulevard near Eleanor Avenue, where they found a woman in her 40s lying in her bed with gunshot wounds to the stomach, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

She was taken to ahospital, where she later died, police said. Her name has not been released

About 5:10 a.m., another shooting occurred roughly 11/2 blocks away near the 2200 block of Beaumont Street. Police said that victim was also a woman. Her wounds did not appear to be life-threatening.

It’s unclear if the shootings are linked, but detectives are treating the shootings as separate investigations.
