Retired Sacramento County Sheriff’s K9 dog dies after being diagnosed with lymphoma

A former K9 dog with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office died on Friday, according to the Sacramento Sheriff’s K9 Association.

Eko was born in the Czech Republic on Aug. 23, 2007, and was paired with Sgt. Anthony Jenkins in January 2009, according to the release. They worked together until August 2016 until Eko retired. His retirement was spent with Jenkins and his family.

Eko was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma and died on Friday.
