Suspect in custody after Stockton shooting leaves 53-year-old man dead, police say
A man was arrested following a fatal shooting Saturday night, according to the Stockton Police Department.
In a news release, Stockton police said Coy Williams was taken into custody in connection with a shooting at a home on the 1000 block of Rendon Avenue.
Officers responded to the scene of the shooting just after 9 p.m., where a 53-year-old man was found suffering from a gunshot wound.
Williams, who was still at the scene, was determined to be living in the home with the victim.
Detectives believe there had been an altercation between the two, leading to the shooting.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
Stockton police arrested Williams, 59, on suspicion of homicide.
