Double trouble: Man arrested for DUI twice in one day in Northern California, CHP says

A Sacramento County man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol Sunday, just several hours after being released from the Solano County jail for his first DUI arrest of the day earlier that morning.

The man was first arrested by Solano-area California Highway Patrol officers for a DUI around 3 a.m. Sunday, CHP’s North Sacramento office said in a Facebook post.

Released from the Solano County jail later that morning, the man picked up his car from the tow yard and headed toward his home in Sacramento County.

“Unfortunately, he decided to stop and pick up more alcohol to drink,” the CHP office wrote on Facebook at about 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

The man was stopped on a Greenback Lane offramp from Interstate 80, near North Highlands and Citrus Heights, and arrested on suspicion of DUI for the second time in a matter of hours, according to the CHP post. Authorities did not identify the driver.

“Some people never learn,” the CHP social media post began.
