Man’s death in South Land Park ruled a homicide after gunshot wound discovered

A man was found dead from a gunshot wound in South Land Park on Monday and his death has been ruled a homicide, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Officers were called to the scene of a suspicious death in the 1000 block of 43rd Avenue at 12:16 p.m. Monday, according to the release. The man was later determined to have suffered a gunshot wound.

The investigation is ongoing and the death has been ruled a homicide.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the man as David Joseph Perez, 47.
