Valley Springs man arrested on suspicion of ‘forcible sexual activity’ with youth, 13

A Valley Springs man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of engaging in sexual activity with a minor.

In a news release, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office said Tanner Lee Harrison, 21, was taken into custody without incident at his Valley Springs home.

Officers believe Harrison met the 13-year-old through social media, and despite knowing the youth’s age, arranged a meet-up.

The two met in a rural part of Valley Springs in the early morning, where police suspect Harrison engaged in sexual activity with the youth.

Harrison was arrested on suspicion of “several crimes related to forcible sexual activity” and booked into the Calaveras County jail on a $150,000 bail, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
