Motorcyclist killed on Capital City Freeway near Marconi after losing control of bike
A traffic collision on Capital City Freeway in Arden Arcade on Sunday morning resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
California Highway Patrol traffic incident logs indicated that a man riding a black motorcycle southbound on the highway crashed just before 9:30 a.m. north of Marconi Avenue.
North Sacramento-area CHP spokesman Ofc. A.J. McTaggart said the crash didn’t involve any other vehicles.
The motorcyclist is believed to have lost control for reasons that are still under investigation, overturning in the process, McTaggart said.
The man was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, McTaggart said.
Caltrans said on Twitter several lanes of traffic were blocked in the aftermath of the crash, but were clear again as of 10:45 a.m.
