One dead, another injured in Roseville apartment shooting. Police question suspect

One person died and another was injured Wednesday afternoon when shots were fired at a Roseville apartment complex after neighbors heard people arguing, police said.

The shooting was reported to the Roseville Police Department about 2:30 p.m. at the apartment complex in the 1600 block of Vineyard Road near Foothills Boulevard.

Officers arrived and found one person with a gunshot wound to the leg. Police officials said that person had been taken to a hospital. Police spokesman Rob Baquera said that person remained at the hospital Wednesday night with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.

Witnesses told police they saw several people leave the area after the shots were heard.

Baquera said the second person shot was found dead in the parking lot near a Sacramento County fire station in the 5800 block of Antelope Road, about 4 miles south of where the gunfire occurred. He said investigators believe that this person left after the shooting occurred, and that both people were shot at the apartment complex.

Investigators were questioning a woman who they believe fired the shots, and that woman was cooperating with the investigation, Baquera said. He declined to release any information about the genders or ages of the two people shot.

On Wednesday night, Baquera said detectives identified everyone involved and were conducting interviews were being conducted to determine what led to the shooting.
