Sacramento police arrest suspect in Broadway shooting

Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting Fridayon Broadway in Sacramento.

Ricky Freeny, 30, was arrested on suspicion of murder and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail about 11 p.m. Friday, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Freeny is suspected of shooting and killing an unidentified man in his late 20s and wounding a woman. Police believe he knew the two victims, who were found about 3:35 a.m. Friday inside a car parked on Broadway near Riverside Boulevard. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman had injuries that were not life-threatening.

Freeny was arrested in Vallejo, police said.
