Beehives stolen near Galt worth more than $12,000, San Joaquin sheriff’s deputies say
The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office is looking for thieves who made off with beehives estimated to be worth thousands of dollars.
According to a news release, a total of 36 active beehives, valued at $12,240, were stolen near Galt in the 27000 block of North Lower Sacramento Road. San Joaquin County sheriff’s deputies said the hives were seen Monday evening, but were discovered missing Tuesday afternoon.
Deputies describe the hives as an olive green color, double stacked, and eight frame with a 90 percent plastic interior.
