A Sonora, California man was arrested Thursday night, Feb. 13, 2020, after he reportedly flipped-off Tuolumne County sheriffâs deputies during a vehicle chase.

A 26-year-old Sonora man with a misdemeanor warrant was arrested Thursday night after he reportedly flipped-off deputies during a 5-mile vehicle chase, according to the Tuolumne County sheriff’s officials.

Along with the misdemeanor warrant, Jarrett Bravo was arrested on suspicion of evading police, according to a Facebook post from the Sheriff’s Department.

About 9:30 p.m. Thursday, a sheriff’s deputy spotted a car on Highway 108 near Via Este Road with non-functioning tail lights. The deputy tried to pull over the car, but Bravo refused to stop, according to sheriff’s officials.

Bravo continued driving on the highway, and at one point he made what sheriff’s officials called “a rude gesture” by reaching his left hand out of his driver’s side window and sticking up his middle finger at pursuing deputies.

Sheriff’s officials said the pursuit lasted for slightly more than 5 miles. They said Bravo stopped his car at the Sugar Pine RV Park in Twain Harte and surrendered to deputies without further incident.
