Bank robber escapes on bicycle, carrying stolen cash, Lodi police say

The Lodi Police Department is looking for a man who robbed a bank Friday and fled on a bicycle with an undisclosed amount of stolen cash.

Officials on Friday evening posted images of the suspected bank robber on the department’s Facebook page. The robbery occurred about 3:40 p.m. at the Premier Community Credit Union in the 500 block of West Lodi Avenue, about mile west of Highway 99.

The robber entered the bank and used a written note to demand money from a bank employee, according to police. The robber got away with the cash. He was last seen leaving the area on a bicycle, heading west on Lodi Avenue.

Investigators ask anyone with information about the bank robber’s identity to call the Lodi Police Department at (209) 333-6727 or Lodi Area Crime Stoppers at (209) 369-2746 to leave a tip confidentially.
