Police arrest parolee-at-large, find stolen firearm in Woodland after high-speed chase
A 25-year-old parolee-at-large was arrested Friday in Woodland after leading officers on a high-speed chase, the Woodland Police Department said.
At 8:47 p.m., officers tried to pull over a vehicle that they saw was being driven by a wanted person, the department said in a social media post. The man, Joseph Gonzalez, did not stop and continued driving at high speed.
A pursuit lasted for several miles as Gonzalez continued to drive through Woodland. He later bailed out of the car in the area of Third and Oak streets and hid in a backyard.
Officers found Gonzalez in the yard of a residence in the 500 block of Third Street.
“A stolen firearm out of Nevada has been located related to this arrest,” the department said.
Police had tried to locate Gonzalez in January, which led to multi-agency search and street closure, the department said.
