Original story: Sacramento State police are asking students to be on the lookout for a man who was seen on campus carrying a “hunting knife,” the department said in a social media post.
The man was reported to police at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday after he allegedly showed the knife to two students who were walking south of the Welcome Center.
“No threats were made, but the man warned the students to watch their surroundings, mumbled something about the coronavirus, and then walked away,” police said.
The man is described as a white male in his 40s with gray hair. He was wearing a scarf over his face and a dark hoodie with a tan backpack. Witnesses also said he wore a “construction or EMT style work belt” with a satchel attached to the right side.
Police are patrolling the area to search for the still at-large man, and ask anyone who sees him to contact the Sacramento State Police Department at 916-278-6000.
