Police: Robbery suspect with gun enters Sacramento bank, but leaves without any cash

Investigators are looking for a suspect with a gun who tried to rob Chase Bank in south Sacramento, but left without any money, police said.

The incident was reported as a bank robbery shortly before 10 a.m. Friday in the 7300 block of West Stockton Boulevard, just south of Cosumnes River Boulevard and west of Highway 99.

Sacramento Police Spokesman Karl Chan said the suspect armed with a gun entered the bank and demanded money. There were no shots fired during the incident. The suspect left in a vehicle, but he was not able to get away with any cash from the bank, Chan said.

During the incident, one customer inside the bank suffered a minor cut and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Chan said the circumstances of how the customer suffered the injury remain under investigation.

Police described the suspect as a male, wearing dark clothing and a motorcycle helmet. Investigators did not have a description of the suspect vehicle.

Chan said police detectives, as part of standard protocol, were working with FBI agents to investigate the crime and find the suspect.
