Police arrested three people Friday suspected of an early-morning burglary in Elk Grove that targeted a church.

In a news release, the Elk Grove Police Department said Brian Marshall, Rueben Kottke and Destiny Garza were taken into custody after a burglary alarm went off at a church on the 10200 block of East Stockton Boulevard. LifePointe Church, a nondenominational Christian church, is located there.

Responding officers arrived to find a white pickup truck leaving the area on Hampton Oak Drive, which runs right behind LifePointe.

The officers stopped the truck, which was occupied by Marshall, Kottke and Garza. Records indicated that the three were on probation, according to police.

The truck contained a chainsaw, a gas can and a lawn edger, which matched descriptions of property stolen from a storage area in the rear of the church.

Marshall, Kottke and Garza were arrested and booked into the Sacramento County jail on suspicion of burglary, probation violation, conspiracy and possession of burglary tools.
