Man arrested on suspicion of homicide in Natomas stabbing, Sacramento police say

The Sacramento Police Department has announced the arrest of a 26-year-old man on suspicion of homicide in connection with a fatal stabbing Wednesday morning in South Natomas.

Officers responded around 8:30 a.m. to the 1900 block of San Juan Road to reports that a man had been stabbed. Police found the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene by fire personnel, the Police Department said Thursday in a news release.

A man who was known to the victim, identified Thursday by police as Fabrizio Leal, was detained at the scene, then arrested and booked into Sacramento County jail on a charge of murder. Investigators believe it is an isolated incident with no outstanding suspects, according to the news release.

The victim will be identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office pending notification of family.
