Marysville day care owner pleads no contest to child molestation charges

A Marysville man could face 21 years to life in prison after pleading no contest to child molestation charges on Friday, according to Marysville police.

Luis Herrejon, 46, was reported in August 2018 to have sexually molested a child who attended Leonor Family Child Care, a day care that he and his wife owned, according to the release. A subsequent investigation identified more victims.

Herrejon was arrested on April 17, 2019, and charged with multiple counts of child molestation. Despite an initial not guilty plea, he pleaded no contest to two counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14, and one count of sexual acts with a child under 10.

Under the plea deal, he agreed to a sentence of 21 years to life and will have a sentencing hearing on May 1.
