Truck plows into Auburn restaurant, which was empty due to coronavirus, police say

Police say a pickup truck crashed through the front window of an Auburn restaurant, plowing into its dining area, but that no one was inside the business, which was closed in an effort to slow the spread of the new coronavirus.

The Auburn Police Department in a Facebook post Wednesday evening said fire and police personnel were responding to the incident, which came as non-essential businesses in Placer and other California counties have been strongly urged to shut down to slow the spread of the virus that causes COVID-19.

“Thankfully with everyone complying with the COVID-19 recommendations, there are no injuries,” the Police Department wrote.

The business was Twin Dragon Mandarin Cuisine on Auburn Ravine Road.
